Tickets for the 2019 FINA Diving Grand Prix are available from April 11-14 at Mission Viejo’s newly renovated Marguerite Aquatics Center. This event marks the return of the event in six years to the United States.
International divers are invited every year at the FINA Diving Grand Prix. They’ll compete in a series of nine meets. It’s one of the world-class competitions in countries that have strong diving tradition. The last time the USA hosted this event was on May 2013 at the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
“USA Diving is excited to host the FINA Grand Prix, as it returns to the United States for the first time in six years and provides world-class competition for elite divers from across the globe,”
said USA Diving High-Performance Director Dan Laak. He also said the Team USA is excited to showcase their talent while taking the next steps to prepare for Tokyo 2020.
The Marguerite Aquatics Center officially reopened in April 2018. It underwent an $11 million worth of renovation that included a new dive tower. The tower comes with a full complement of diving platforms.
“Being the first U.S. city in six years to host the prestigious FINA Diving Grand Prix is amazing, yet it’s no surprise, considering Mission Viejo’s Marguerite Aquatics Complex has helped the world-renowned Nadadores spawn countless Olympians,”
said Mayor Greg Raths. He added that the city is thrilled to partner with the USA Diving and share this event with the local, national and international community.
